KNOWLES, Marilyn Joyce (Dr. Marilyn Lawrenson) -- Passed away at Dunstan Hospital on Monday 13th April, 2026, following a two-year battle with cancer. A respected dentist and lecturer, she spent much of her professional life caring for others and helping to shape the next generation of clinicians. In her retirement she developed a passion for horticulture and when not working on her farm, she was happiest surrounded by family and her faithful dog Loki. In her later life she made her home in Mt Pisa, Bannockburn, and Dunedin. Marilyn passed, aged 75, with family at her side. She is survived by her beloved husband Nick, daughters Kat, and Charlotte, sons John, Peter, Stephen, and Nick, and grandchildren Caitlyn, Finn, Natty, Jayden, Nathan, Jackson, Cooper, and Ryan. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all that knew her. In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, a private cremation has been held, and her ashes will be scattered in a place that she cherished. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society of New Zealand would be greatly appreciated by the family.

MCBREEN Patricia Dominica, née Gibson ( Trish to family) 94 years. Died peacefully in Cromwell on Friday April 10, 2026. A dearly loved and cherished older sister who nutured us all. Survived by her siblings Tom Gibson, Anne Gibson and Helen Gibson . Pre deceased by her parents Pat and Jim Gibson and her husband Bill McBreen and son Johnny McBreen: also her siblings Katherine Gibson, Sister Helena OP, Mary Gibson Collings and her husband's John Keenen; Neil Collings, Tom's wife Joy Gibson; Simon Gibson; Cecilia Mackenzie née Gibson and Cecilia's grandson Cameron Jones. Trish was a treasured aunt to all her nieces and nephews in whom she took a keen interest. Trish lived with enthusiasm and joy, always finding the positive in everything. We will miss her cheerfulness and genuine interest in people. Trish was always a loving presence who we will remember and hold dear

PEIRCE, Geoffrey Richard Donnell After a short illness, Geoff passed away surrounded by his loving family at Dunstan Hospital on March 14, 2026, aged 78. A passionate fisherman, gardener, baker & coffee connoisseur, as well as an exceptionally skilled carpenter, he leaves behind his well-loved family. Much loved husband of Janette, loving father of Penelope & Sam and loved father-in-law of Mike & Courtney. He was treasured by his extended family, and the Millers Flat community. A loyal brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and great-uncle to many.  A special thank you to everyone who gave support to Geoff during his illness, as well as his fantastic medical team across Dunedin Hospital, Dr Matt Born and the great team at Dunstan Hospital, and District Nurses Jane and Saskia.
