KNOWLES, Marilyn Joyce (Dr. Marilyn Lawrenson) -- Passed away at Dunstan Hospital on Monday 13th April, 2026, following a two-year battle with cancer. A respected dentist and lecturer, she spent much of her professional life caring for others and helping to shape the next generation of clinicians. In her retirement she developed a passion for horticulture and when not working on her farm, she was happiest surrounded by family and her faithful dog Loki. In her later life she made her home in Mt Pisa, Bannockburn, and Dunedin. Marilyn passed, aged 75, with family at her side. She is survived by her beloved husband Nick, daughters Kat, and Charlotte, sons John, Peter, Stephen, and Nick, and grandchildren Caitlyn, Finn, Natty, Jayden, Nathan, Jackson, Cooper, and Ryan. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all that knew her. In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, a private cremation has been held, and her ashes will be scattered in a place that she cherished.
